The project executed as part of the web redesign will streamline new members registration and renewals by providing full online functionality.
Casa de Venezuela had been looking for a mechanism to streamline new member registration and membership renewal. The organization have been facing declining membership revenue due to delays in payments for renewing members. Among other reasons, members complainted that having to send checks for payment was cumbersome and easy to forget. At the same time the manual work involved in keeping track of payments had become excesive for an organization that depends entirely on volunteers.
Casa de Venezuela had already been evaluating some online services by the time they engaged Lyquix. After gathering the client's requirements and understanding their business environment, Lyquix started a research of membership systems. It included both software packages and online services.
Lyquix recommended Casa de Venezuela the purchase of an open-source software package that could be easily installed and configured in their own web server. The cost of this package was only one third of one year of an equivalent online service.
The new system was fully integrated to the new website. New members can easily register and pay with credit card. Existing members can access their online profile and update its information, as well as pay for membership renewals via credit card. The system generates automatic emails welcoming new members and reminding them of membership expiration. For convenience, members can also activate an automatic credit card charge. For the administrator it is now very easy to keep track of membership payments via online lists and reports.
The new Casa de Venezuela website is available at www.casadevenezuela.net.
